Description
An undoubted classic of American distilling that is on our must-try list. The rye element gives such a gloriously fruity and spicy dimension that is beguiling sipped neat, and an invaluable weapon in the battle to create classic Prohibition-era cocktails. Nose – Complex and vibrant, with a grassy-herbal edge cutting through the vanilla. An attractive spiciness too like spiced white chocolate. Water brings out surprisingly attractive notes of used tea bags and pine oil. Palate – Toffee, coffee grounds and a butteriness. There’s a citrus lift too like thick cut marmalade/orange zest oil, and a tingly spice in the finish. A cracking whiskey.
