Description
Inspired by our award winning Old Pulteney 1989, Huddart is matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, before being finished in ex-peated malt casks. Bottled at 46% It is not only named after the street where it lies, but also Captain Joseph Huddart who provided maps and charts for the British Fisheries Society who were the builders of Pulteneytown and its harbour. He was also for a period a Director of the British Fisheries Society.
Profil : Riche et fumé.
Nose : Rich and warming. Brimming with mellow wood smoke, honey and oily leather at first, to later bloom with crisp green apple top notes. Creamy vanilla and a hint of burned toffee in the background.
Palate : Freshly-ground spices and soft vanilla balance the central notes of wood smoke and peat fire.
Overall : There are both richly sweet and distinctly coastal chords in the background, together reminiscent of salted caramel.
