Adding a few extra years onto their 12 year old release, this whisky has been aged in casks that were hand selected by the distillery’s master cooper 18 years ago. The additional time adds a few extra sweet wood notes to the array of fruits and earthy tones. Nose – Cherries and nuts soaked in brandy. Chocolate truffles and freshly charred oak, which threatens a light smokiness. Palate – Sherry spice, mature oak with a little moss growth. Touches of white fruit and citrus. A slightly strange ‘old’ oak finish.
