Description
This edition is a tribute to the philosophy of the distillery’s founder, James Allardice, born nearly two centuries ago, by Dr. Rachel Barrie, Master Blender of GlenDronach. At that time, tradition dictated that peat was burned in the Highlands at the end of barley malting, adding earthy and smoky notes to the future Single malt. GlenDronach Traditionally Peated perfectly combines the robustness of the Highlands, the corpulent and rich character typical of the distillery and an expressive peat. Aged in the best barrels of Pedro Ximénez, Sherry Oloroso and Porto, this expression develops notes of Highland toffee, molasses and smoked blackberries, sublimated by a long, rich and earthy finish. Like all GlenDronach Single Malts, Traditionally Peated derives its natural colour from slow maturation in Spanish oak barrels.
Malted and peaty. Smoked fruit, caramel and spices.
