Description
A deliciously fruity whisky from Compass Box, made sourcing malt whisky with typical fruity spirit styles such as Clynelish, Linkwood and Benrinnes. Interestingly, the majority of whisky used in this expression was bought by Compass Box as new spirit, and then aged in casks under their own watchful eyes and palates. Nose – Apple, pear and peach initially. Hints of rich peat and black cherry. Pineapple, all manner of citrus zests (especially lemon and lime), and Earl Grey tea. Powdered ginger leads into a rounded maltiness. Vanilla and toasted desiccated coconut. Sweet biscuity notes with touches of cinnamon. Palate – Apple juice, muesli, banana and honey. Wild strawberry. Very breakfast-like at first! An oily texture with subtle peat again. Sultana, vanilla and then a creaminess infused with hay and meadowsweet. Hints of cocoa powder in the finish.
