Description
Ardbeg Corryvreckan takes its name from the famous whirlpool that lies to the north of Islay, where only the bravest souls dare to venture.Nose: A turbulent, heady, deep nose of tarry ropes, linseed oil and creosote, followed by dark chocolate, warm blackcurrants and muscovado sugar. With water, more pepper (of the cayenne variety), meatiness, like good steak and oysters. There is also a bit of a briney note, slight bacon notes and a seaweed hint.
Palate: A wave of different tasted on the palate, with deep, peppery notes, chewy notes, espresso notes and blackcurrants, blueberries and cherries. Almonds, star anise and hickory notes.
