Description
Talisker, Isle of Skye’s World famous Single Malt, is one of the most visited distilleries in Scotland. More of a peppery smoke than Islay whiskies, with this edition they take a slightly younger Talisker (with a bit more youthful peatiness) and finish it in Ex Port barrels. At one point, port casks were just as popular for maturation as sherry casks. Distillers would actually purchase casks full of Port, drink the Port and mature their whisky in the cask.
Nose: A plum note, oats and cranberry flapjack, quickly followed by a sweet smoke, like the dying wood burning fire.
Palate: Spicy, dark fruits, a smokey peppery note and a creamy note.
